We Are RollHard. We Are Community.
Ever since the very beginning, RollHard has been about friends. Friends who just happen to build and drive cool cars yes - but friends first and foremost.
You see, RollHard isn’t just an automotive clothing brand, we’re a community and we’ve been that way since the beginning in 2010. We never intended to grow into what you see here, things have just evolved with time.
We can’t talk about RollHard roots without mentioning the Vag-Opel event in Belgium, which was where we all met Levi and Glenn, the RH Belgium “originals”. Our Belgian road trips have always been great weekends away for us. It all started when we met Levi for a beer the night before the 2011 event. We traded car stories over beer and learned a whole lot more about Belgian car culture. These guys share our views on “the scene”, we just clicked.
We found ourselves coming up with more and more reasons to take the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle over from England to France and make the short drive down to Belgium, and as the months went by, we attended many more events across mainland Europe, making sure we stopped off and visited Levi and the gang en-route on our Worthersee road trip, as well as Heaven on Wheels and EuroSunday visits.
A growing group of friends, we travelled in convoy together to shows around Europe, creating our own UK/Belgium “crossover” scene in the process, this wasn’t even about cars anymore - this was family.
One thing we knew, even from day one, was that these guys knew how to build a car. They have been executing simple touches, clean paint, spot-on fitment and perfect wheel choices on their builds for years. Having been to many European shows, we have seen the good, the bad and the ugly, but in Belgium, you don’t have to look too hard to find a niche “pocket” of car tuners who do things “just right”. Nice guys and girls with amazing cars, what’s not to like?
In 2012, we hosted an invite only BBQ “RollHard Rendezvous” before the Players North Weald event at Roy Carters garage in Hertford. Truth be told, we had more Belgian cars than UK ones, which just showed us how passionate these Belgian guys are about car culture. We crammed 100 cars into the Carters site and enjoyed a summer’s evening of music, homemade burgers and good vibes. There was no glossy branding, we literally had one small RollHard banner and a whole bunch of new mates. This even was to become the true birth of RollHard in Belgium. This set the standard for everything that followed.
With RollHard message spreading on both sides of the English Channel, in 2013 we decided to push ourselves and host events both at Duxford Aerodrome, Cambridgeshire, England and Aarschot, Belgium. Comfort zone, what comfort zone?
These events continued the chilled vibes we had all enjoyed at our first BBQ at Carters. For us, this was our version of car culture, without any negativity.
Fast forward 4 years and here we have RollHard: The Belgian Chapter 4.0 (alongside our UK event RollHard: The Show). Our 4th year in Aarschot (2 hours from Dunkirk), this event has become something of a “hidden gem” on the show calendar. The RollHard Belgium guys and girls (too many too list but you know who you are!) do a blinding job organising this event. With over 700 cars from all corners of Europe, our event has stuck to its roots as one hell of a chilled out celebration of modified car culture. Leave your ego at the entrance gate, this the place to talk to strangers and make new car friends.
Our 2016 event served up another array of top quality cars and without any further babbling from me, I will leave it to Jeroen De Plancke’s photography to show you around.
Thank you to every single person who came and supported. We couldn’t do this without you. We’ll see you all on Sunday 27th August 2017 for Belgian Chapter 5.0. Arrive early, this is strictly first come first served, an ice cold Jupiler is waiting for you.
Belgium. We love you.
