For the Love of Cars.
The love of automotive spans right across the globe, without exception. You might be into motorsport/supercars/stance or whatever the hell you like, it’s all good, there will be others around the world who love exactly what you do.
You know that saying, blood is thicker than water? Well, in car world, oil is thicker than blood and no matter what people say or think about modified cars, literally nothing can stop our passion.
I always talk about how the internet has brought owners from all corners together, which is weird, because on the same token, our "global car scene” is bigger than it ever has been. Things now are on a scale simply unimaginable before the internet was invented, it's so easy these days to stay connected with what's going on around the world. Obviously, the best place to stay tuned for all things car community is right where you are now, the RollHard blog.
A few years ago, we coined the moto, "it's the journey that makes us" and our ethos has remained the same to this day. For us, the road trips are such a huge part of our enjoyment of cars, travelling in convoy to shows creates so many great memories with friends.
Japan has always had a reputation for modified cars and whilst their car scene is changing, there is a strong heart beating, keeping things well and truly alive over there. With their love for JDM unquestionable, the Japanese have grown fond of German cars, namely Volkswagen. To us Europeans, these cars are common as muck, almost to the detriment of their popularity at events, but in Japan, the VW brand carries a cool appeal.
For this reason, Japan has seen a real growth in the number of modified VWs hitting shows, as our Wekfest coverage revealed - Japan really does love the “peoples car”, more so in modified form, which as we all know, modifying cars is something the Japanese are pretty keen on.
The Volkswagen scene has been strong elsewhere for many, many years. There are true diehard VW fans out there who will never venture away from the Volkswagen/Audi Group model line-up, blinkered as they may be, no-one can question their brand passion and the sense of belonging the VW scene creates.
VagCruise Meet, Japan.
Talking of the internet, we are on it right now, so without further ado, let’s take a quick virtual flight to take a look around at the VagCruise meet in Japan. This is a meet purely for modified Volkswagen enthusiasts and creates something of a social club for VW owners.
We love the community feel around this event. This is pure convoy vibes, with impromptu photoshoots happening throughout the event/cruise, as you will see. Breaking out the food and drinks when the cars are parked up is what it's all about. We love the fact that this event is all about creating memories and friendships.
Don’t forget to support your local car meet...
